The Financial Executives Networking Group (The FENG) is a global community of senior financial leaders—CFOs, Controllers, Treasurers, FP&A, Audit, Tax, and M&A professionals—dedicated to helping one another navigate career transitions, leadership challenges, and the evolving demands of the finance function. Built on trust, confidentiality, and peer-to-peer support, The FENG connects members through private networking, senior executive-level job leads, educational events, and thought leadership to create meaningful opportunities, strengthen careers, and advance the profession of finance through collaboration rather than competition.
Our Story
What began as a small gathering of senior financial executives in Connecticut has grown into the world’s foremost community of CFOs, Controllers, Treasurers, VPs of Finance, and other financial leaders. Today, with more than 25,000 members, The FENG spans every major industry and geographic location, yet remains grounded in the same personal connections that sparked its beginning.

I am often asked what makes The FENG different. The answer is simple:
our willingness to help one another without hesitation and without keeping score.
Every member is invited in by someone who knows them personally. That member-to- member trust is the foundation of our culture. It’s the reason we have grown to over 25,000 members and why our network remains so strong.
We are not just a professional organization. We are a community of seasoned executives who have walked the same paths, faced the same challenges, and understand the importance of friendships, especially during career transitions.

Our Network Leadership
Matt Bud
Chair, Westport, CT Chapter
Matthew R. Bud has been a Managing Partner of The Financial Executives Consulting Group (www.TheFECG.com) since its founding in 1999. The FECG places senior financial executives in interim and permanent assignments as Chief Financial Officers, Controllers and Treasurers. Matt is primarily responsible for business development and candidate screening.
Matt is also Chairman of The Financial Executives Networking Group (www.TheFENG.org), an international organization of senior financial executives that he has grown from only 64 members in December 1996 to over 36,000 today. The FENG provides senior level financial executives with a forum in which to share job opportunities and experiences.
Among the first to recognize the power of the Internet as a communication tool, Matt connects members of The FENG on a daily basis through outbound email. Over 1,500 pages of senior level job leads and career advice are published every month.
Featured in the January 21, 2003 edition of The Wall Street Journal, The FENG is a nationally recognized organization for senior financial professionals. It is also the largest organization of its type in the United States.
For 9 years Matt was Chief Financial Officer of Levine, Huntley, Schmidt & Beaver, at one time the 29th largest U.S. based Advertising Agency. Matt also has 15 years of experience in Publishing and Broadcasting, 6 years with The Thomson Corporation and 9 years with CBS, Inc. and 2 years of retailing experience with B. Altman & Company.
He has an MBA in Finance from New York University and a B.S. in Finance from Indiana University.
Marty Latman
Chair, Bergen County, NJ Chapter
Marty Latman is Co-Chairman of the Financial Executive Networking Group (FENG) and its resident coaching expert. He is also a Board member of the Financial Executives International (FEI) and the member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). Marty is called by many people the “Best Networker” they know. He is a People Helper and Match Maker. As Managing Partner of Latman Advisory Services LLC, he provides business consulting services to help organizations achieve their business goals and improve their profitability. Marty also provides career mentoring and coaching services where he teaches, trains, advises and supports professionals in many industries and at all levels in the techniques they need to have successful job search campaign. Over 1,650 professionals have said that through his help, they landed the position they desired. Marty takes a collaborative approach as he works closely with his clients to meet their unique needs and goals. Marty is a CPA and has been a speaker at many local, regional and international networking groups and professional organization conferences.

My extensive background in financial services, particularly in Asset and Wealth Management, includes working with Investment Advisors and cross-functional teams across Product, Sales, Technology, and extended Global and Regional teams. My Big 4 public accounting experience has helped me build a comprehensive skill set in financial and management reporting, financial planning, strategic partnering, and finance transformation.
I am a strategic business partner for the Financial Executives Networking Group (FENG), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, advising on business strategy and a sustainable business model, driving the expansion of digital marketing, new services and content, strategic partnerships and thought leadership. Additionally, I serve as the Editor for the Financial Executives Journal, an online publication focused on industry insights, career growth, and professional development.
Lew Bader is a finance executive with extensive experience across both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining Counseling In Schools as Chief Financial Officer in 2015, Lew built a successful career in the publishing industry, where he held senior financial leadership roles supporting large-scale operations, complex revenue models, and strategic growth initiatives. His background in publishing provided a strong foundation in financial planning, operational discipline, and cross-functional leadership.
At Counseling In Schools, Lew oversees financial strategy, operations, and governance for a growing, mission-driven organization. He plays a key role in strengthening financial infrastructure while supporting the organization’s expansion and long-term sustainability.
Lew is deeply committed to mentoring and advancing finance professionals. He serves as Chair of the Long Island chapter of The FENG (Financial Executives Networking Group) and also chairs its Peer Resume Review Committee, leading a team that provides structured, executive-level guidance to members navigating career transitions.
In addition, Lew serves as Treasurer of the Eric Jason Bader Foundation, a family-founded nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to arts, sports, and educational opportunities for children in under-resourced communities. His career reflects a blend of financial leadership, strategic vision, and a strong commitment to service and mentorship.

Why our model works — and why it’s different.
The FENG operates on principles that may feel counterintuitive to newcomers, but they are the foundation of why this network has thrived for more than three decades. Membership in The FENG requires a modest $200 annual fee, but dues alone don’t define us. We remain a sponsorship-based organization because trust and personal connection are at the core of what we do. Members join through relationships: each new member is sponsored by one or two existing members. Those relationships often deepen over time.
Many long-standing members choose to contribute significantly more than their annual dues as a way of giving back to the network that has supported them. These contributions are vital to sustaining the programs, resources, and mentorship that make The FENG uniquely powerful.
